"this would place a great percentage of people unable to come to Spain, or make them change their minds."

If the people wanting to come to Spain do not have the sort of incomes to afford all that is needed then they should not be wanted by Spain. Post-exit and post-covid. Why should Spain want those who cannot contribute, and who could become a drain on resources? There are other places in the world where it is possible to live cheaply - the Gambia, Republic of Congo etc. and they are just as sunny.

This is what I have read on other forums ...the UK will no longer be part of the EU from January 2021 any none EU person that wants to live in Spain after January 2021 will need to meet the requirements if they want to become a Spanish Resident ...I have also read that the present Brit's that hav...

...e become Spanish Residents will  carry on receiving the benefits from the UK after January 2021..any UK Resident OAP that wants to move to Spain after January 2021 will still receive the government pension but the will not receive any UK government support towards the private health care that they will require to live in Spain..the present OAPs on the likes of Camposol are most likely going to be the last one's for the foreseeable future.

Only if you have an s1 in place before end of year, if no agreement, therefore if under 65 , no uk health care in spain once reach 65 . France has extended this to 2023 , for leeway till agreement in place.  .

Oh dear thats a big harsh, I assume you are not British born, or you would be supporting the Brits, just as the Brits support everyone else. ( Carefull )

If you have been to Gambia, and the Congo, you would not even have thought of of those places, health care does not exist, when I was there it was only the british forces who were helping out with everything, or the people would have starved, and died of illness.

Money given by the world Governments for the people was whipped away into private bank accounts, and then disapeared.

The new president of Gambia, ( Who was actually working in London at a Burger outlet ) and had no idea he was the next in line to take over, I think was making head way to the benefit of the people, some of the greatest people you will ever meet, and very hard working.

If you ever visit Gambia, pick up a tub of the Balm they use for just about everything, ( cost about £1 ) in the local shops, made from the extract of the trees.

I laughed when the young lad told me it would cure my ankle problems when he saw me running the beaches, but suffering afterwards.

I tried it, and my god it worked, I was, and still am amazed, never had a problem in about 15 years, and still run about 10 miles with no aches or pains.

Just interesting facts.

Yes agree,

I still think a deal will be thrashed out, but what it will cover is any ones guess.

Spain will have to think carefully what it stops, and what it retains, as many will not come, and a good few will have to go home, and only the Spanish economy will lose out.

Just the canculation of the EHIC cards alone will cost Spain a great deal, as everyone will not want to take out private insurance if they are under age for medical care, let alone holiday makers.

Its a big open hole, and until the end of the year, its any ones guess. ( but you can bet the ROYAL NAVY ) will be very busy protecting British fishing waters.

I don't think that Brexit will be a plus for anyone. And a big minus for Britian.

If the way the UK is treating EU citizens, in the Immigration Bill  means anything, it certainly wouldn't encourage Spain to be flexible towards UK immigrants.

The mood of the Brexit talks doesn't augur well for a good future relationship.

I think they will let you on convenio after 1 year private, not in there interests not to,

Then after 5years you can become permanent resident, which allows you free state healthcare no need for s1 if its scrapped .  If no deal that is . This would all cost roughly 6000e , for 5 years .

It won't be a Spanish decision but an EU-wide one.

Immigrants from eastern countries are most affected by UK Immigration legislation,

and these Governments' views will influence any decisions on UK immigrants rights in their countries.

Sorry do not understand.

All EU citizens are treat very well in UK.

In addition if you manage to reach UK shores, you are well cared for, and not returned to your country of birth.

If you manage to slip the net, you can be lost in the UK, work, and live, and NO ONE is turned away from the Nation Health Hospitals if you require help or treatment, even if you cannot supply a National Insurance number.

The last lady that had help, after being turned away from America, and of Nigerian nationality,  ran up a £800-000 National Health Hospitall bill, and not a penny was claimed back.

This includes all EU citizens, who can have free hospital treatment in the UK, no questions asked.
