Your figures are rubbish.  We live here as a couple for £10,000 a year.  If you shop at the markets you can buy excellent fruit and veg. We also use local Spanish butchers.  Basically if you live life like a Spaniard you can be comfortable on a lesser amount. If you want to live like a Brit but in spain it will cost you more

I would like to know where the figure of €15,000 comes from to live in Spain? How much do you need to be a resident? We can live on €150 a week easy. Not going out all the time obviously. It's plenty. Can anyone enlighten me on this figure that was posted a while ago?

You might get by on €150 per week for two...but this is not good living not by a long chalk you would be watching every penny.. Camposol has a very big social seen with every corner that you turn costing you money ...so be warned if you only have €150 disposable to get by on every week you will not last to long in Spain.. when you can't buy a cup of coffee/a beer or sit down for a menu del daya when everyone around you is ... personally I think it is impossible for two people to live on €20 per day.. paying all your household bills and putting food on the table..no way.

Frequent flyer, that's serious talking. €150 a week will depend on your social activities. If you do all your cooking and eating at home, go vegetarian, then €150 might be enough.

No smoking, no drinking or buy a bottle or two of wine, I think one should be fine with €150.

I am being totally Realistic ...and I will repeat again two people cannot live comfortably and pay all the household bills on €150 per week ....even if they do eat and live like Spaniard's...by the way the Spanish are extremely sociable people they like the cafe culture / eating and drinking out in the evening's and the weekends.

Frequent flyer.  Ah ah, you are including the variable fixed costs, such as phone, water, (more if you have a swimming pool), wifi electricity bills. Yes, it might be more than €150, if all the above mentioned to include food and social drinking as well.

Now, we are talking about real costing. But bear this in mind, Frequent flyer, we don't actually know how the others live. €150 might be just right for them when money is too tight to Mention.

Some of us just want to retire here peacefully and have a very quiet life, and aĺl being well and equal, €150 might just be right for them.

You have to retire somewhere. And whatever you can live on in Britain or Ireland you can also live on in Spain. And it will be sunny and warm most of the time. And you can swim in the sea. And walk most days. And tapas. need I go on?

Of course I am including real costing how else are you going to get buy if you don't account for.... telephone /transport/electricity/gas/water/council tax/food you will not pay for all this on €150 per week for two people....I have not included money for socializing ( but it

is essential that you include some spending money especially when you live in a cafe culture like Spain )... people are getting misguided on living costs in Spain the only thing that is cheaper is I.B.I everything thing else is approximately the same as the UK ...I cannot comment on the price of goods in Ireland or any other part of the EU.
