Hi Chris, this forum always ends in bickering or starts with bickering. Without going into details, we live on a lot less than what Frequent Flyer is saying or Gloria. Each person is different with different amounts to spend. If you have a certain budget, you try stick to it like we do. And some ...

...people might have that bit less to spend here in Spain than others if you aren't yet retired but you can live here cheaper than the uk. Water is not expensive 47 euros every 2 months, ibi is cheap but food depending on where you shop ie if you shop at all the English shops, then it works out expensive. Do your sums before you come here and see it you can live comfortably because you can manage on a lot less than living in the uk. Good luck both

Hi chucky

Thank you for your support.....and not calling me a lair like frequent flyer....i would be curious to know about your spends?

To see how/ where We can cut down if need be.

Our IBI is 366 per year ......private message if you don't mind a little sharing😋😉 thanks

Roland,  the peacemaker  has stepped in. We will ensure we don't stumble into ASDA or the new TESCO to do our food shopping.

And also, if we dine outside once a week, depending on your taste, it my cost you more than €200 a week. From experience, my wife, daughter and I went to the Spice restaurant on Sector B, it did cost us quite a bit.

The advice is, if you can BUDGET your expenditure very tightly, it might be ok to live on a shoestring. In honesty, buy local produce and cost it out on a weekly basis and adjust accordingly if you need to.

I think we should tone down the use of our language. We are expressing our opinions, and each opinion would be different from one another.

I, personally, find the info on this forum very useful. That's why I visit it daily.

Dave Sierra golf.  Playing deaf and dumb, no disrespect to anyone.  Don't they display prices, or you just pray they don't pump up the volume?.  Ah

It looks like just using our social security (US) We have double the amount needed to retire safely in Spain.  Now are issues are the very confusing tax's that will be exposed on us.  Finding a home seems not to be a problem.  Mind boggling amount offered. We have read about the different areas and how they charge different tax's and fees.  We are both past 65 and would like all the help that can be given to find a real bottom line.  Please by example not estimate.  Thanks
