The same happened to us in February. In Fortuna. Because of covid we didnt have a chance to get alarm system in place. Have it now. We used my verisure. They pulled grills right off our patio doors. No valuables in the house so took tv. It breaks your heart and takes the shine of your dream.

Sorry to hear your news. I know the feeling. It makes you just want to sell up and move away. They have invaded your privacy and been through your things. We are making the house as secure as we can now and just hope that is enough to stop them. Noone can understand why the people havent been caught yet on camposol who is doing this horrible thing. For the past 20 years we have lived higher up the coast and only moved here recently. Never had any problems with burglerys in either property we owned previously so it is a dampener to move here and this happen to us. No matter what you do to secure the property can you ever feel 100% safe?

That is so sad, there are some truly awful people around.  We have installed an alarm system and cameras, its a sad old world out there.

Too true. You shouldn't have to make your home like Fort knox. We now have alarm and cameras fitted.

This is the burning question.  AFTER ALL THIS TIME AND ALL THESE INCIDENTS, WHY HAVEN’T THESE LOW LIVES BEEN CAUGHT?

Hi

There has been another spate of burglaries recently. We were one of the unlucky households who got broken into Tuesday night. We have security grills on windows all over the villa. We had been away for a couple of nights and was travelling back yesterday morning when we got a phone call to say ou...

...r house had been broken into. Everything was out of drawers. Didn't take the lap top or camera. Jewelry and money was taken. The burglers had made sure all window blinds were down and curtains pulled across so they could put lights on. It's the mess they make and the insurance claim together with police report that's another thing we are dealing with at the moment. They pulled the grill completely off the back bedroom window to gain access. People tell us we have got off lightly!!!! We only moved to camposol 4 months ago but have lived in other areas of Spain for 20 years and never been burgled before. I've uploaded a couple of pics of how they got into the villa and damage to a pergular. They moved a patio table to the wall and climbed on it over the neighbours back wall to get away. Just thought I'd share this with everyone. Lynn

Sorry to hear you have been Burgled long as you are all safe. Have they still not been Caught.Did not any of the Neighbour's hear the noise Taken them Window bar's of would of made some Noise. Surely now it's time to think about some sort of security [police station/or private security guard's] Big place like Camposol would not Cost much if all chip in. Good thing is like i said that you are all ok. Sending my best to you. Take care Lynn. Hope the police find them and your belonging's that was stolen.

Perhaps it is time that more pressure should be put on our local councillor with regards to these constant burglaries on Camposol ??

The situation on D in particular seems to be getting out of hand.

Hi Eric

Our neighbour has a dog and he said the only time he knew about things was when he let the dog out in the morning and the dog was going to our joint wall. That's when he looked over and saw the grill hanging off. So they must have been quiet. Police visited the house today and spoke to hubby whilst I was out. We have police report and taking a copy to insurance company tomorrow. Assessor coming round. Its all go at the moment. Hubby not wanting to leave the house though. He's quite a sociable person most times but this has sent him inwards on himself now. He can't sleep and worried its going to happen again. We've got ourselves alarmed and got cameras now. New grills on order. What more can you do to keep them out?

I've sent a copy of a footprint to the police that we got from a Nike trainer. We googled it and found out it matched Nike.

I don't believe that there will be any real change until and unless the Spanish attitude to CCTV changes. The wooly civil liberties lot are more concerned about thr rights of burglars and street robbers - along with the rights of property invaders ("squatters" always sounds too feeble to me!)rather than the rights of decent law-abiding citizens to live without fear of assault or loss of their property.
