Could I ask if anyone has heard of this issue. Our lawyers sent us an initial outline of costs Tax etc at 8% in Murcia again fine with this. Just got an email from our lawyer to say as this is a repossession (never lived in ) the tax is to be at a higher cost as the value is above what we agreed at the outset. I hope I'm making sense folks. Seems odd when every unit in CDA is dropping price. Anyone else know or experience this ?

The way property is valued for tax purposes has little to do with what you paid except if the hacienda reckon you have paid less than they think the property is worth they charge you. It seems they are fining you because they think you are underdeclaring what you have paid so in effect fine you for that. Guilty unless proved innocent, with no way to prove that!
