Hello
We have a holiday home on La Torre. The resort is quieter in winter but there are quite a few people who live on site. There is an English school at the southern gates and some children who attend live on La Torre. The hairdresser is open all year as is the golf club bar and Italien restaurant. The Indian is new and so far opens all year too.
There are several swimming pools on site. They get VERY busy in summer. We are not here July and August most years but the reports are generally not good I.e. bad behaviour, and extra security required.
The resort in general is very well run with a good committee and area presidents, all volunteers. We have been hit hard by the storms, particulalry in September but the gardening firm and security have worked so hard to put us back together again. The fees differ dependant on plot size. We pay around €105 a month and own a townhouse. TV, internet, security, lovely public gardens included.
There are debtors who do not pay their community fees and they can effect your fees dependant on which area you live in. The resort does not share this issue out which can be a bone of contention if you have quite a few debtors on your area. Some area presidents have over 40 properties and some have as few as 5. Seems unfair but apparently spanish law says this cannot be altered after Polaris world divided it all up.
So the resort is not problem free but where is? Take the rough with the smooth. Play your part and it is a lovely place to both live and visit as we do around 4 times a year as you intend to.
Hope this helps. I have to agree that Facebook is almost a must for info but there is also a website...infolatorregolf.
