Hi Pete, we have used Worldwide currencies for the last 16 years.

Our solicitor in England recommended them and as they use them there-selves  I thought it a safe bet . We use them every few months and not had a problem. We always give them a call first to arrange the transaction.they will give you the exchange rate for the amount you are going to send, as long as you are happy you transfer money from your bank to there’s they in turn send euros to your Spanish bank.we do this in the morning and it’s in our Spanish bank that day.

Thanks everyone!  I never thought for one second I would get this number of replies.  I will have to now look at reviews regarding to which one or ones I go with.  Thanks again 🙏

Hi Pete 147, I see that you have 17 replies, and of course they are all of different opinions, so you, and you only will have to make the final choice, however I am not making any recommendations, I am only stating what was factual at the end of 2021. Since Brexit Sabadell introduced a charge of ...

...18 euros for any payed in deposit to a British account, however Currency Direct would refund the 18 euros on request, this I know because Sabadell held my account, and my  monthly transfers was done by Currency Direct and sometimes by Wise, for me I find transferring funds from my UK bank to Currency Direct, then from Currency Direct to Sabadell, was too much hassle, so I went to my Sabadell branch and put forward my concerns. I was offered an account called Expansion, with this account the bank will do your D/D FOC., and if you are having at least 700 euros transferred every month then you will have free banking. I am still with Sabadell and I am enjoying free banking. But please check with the bank to see if there are any changes, good luck with whatever your choice.

Yes, we use Sabadell and as long as you guarantee a certain amount every month there are no charges. We use place in the sun and our friends use wise, at 5he end of the day there isn’t much diff

Please let me know what you decide in the end. I use Wise for my small transfers but am planning to buy a house in Spain next year and will need to transfer a larger amount,  safely.  Thanks.

Hi ,  I’m looking at transferring money from the Uk into a Spanish bank account.  Can you recommend who to chose for this.  I’m transferring a lump sum and then on regular monthly basis. Can this be done for free ?   Thanks in advance

I use XE. no charges,  money arrives same day.

Hi… it’s looking like TorFX for the lump sum as that’s the most important.   The good thing is you can chose who gives you the best rate at the time.  👍

Thanks. For my pension and paying bills in Spain, I use my Wise card.

Someone mentioned that Wise is not covered by FSCS and there is a chance that if your money gets lost then you may not get it back.  I haven’t looked into this as I won’t be using wise.  Thought you should know 👍
