We are hoping to buy a property. We wondered about community fees. We would not be able to go much past 120 euros a month, so is this even possible or are the fees much higher? Many thanks.

We in the process of selling ours Community chargers are different for everyone tour's €450 quarter you may pay more or slightly less. Also take into account other Bill's Water,Gas,Electric,Council Tax,Non residents Tax, Car rentals or if you purchase. We only used it 3 times a year due to working that and other reasons decided to sell. With the taxes you pay to buy and then if and when you decide to sell by time they take any capital gains tax estate agents fee's dont make any profit. Wish we had just continued to rent rather than buy but that's our personal thoughts everyone is different and its individual choice.

I was told a 2 bed top floor was €115 then it was €125. Then once we proceeded with the sale my solicitor confirmed they would be €145.  That’s the point I pulled out!

Lots still needs to be repaired there and maintained.

in future I would seek advice of solicitor for fees and not the agent !

The apartments are lovely and there’s lots on offer but we wouldn’t have used half of it as in the winter the pools would be too cold and our main visits would be winter.

Los Olivos community fees are already up to €200.  Consider carefully.   Good luck.

Do you really need to buy on a golf resort?

Why not look at a property within close proximities of golf resorts that have no communities fees?

Plenty available in many costal regions of Spain

I totally get where your coming from but we want the 24 HR security as will only be there 6 months of the year. This is something we may have to look at if we cannot afford the fees. 👍

Are you planning to keep the crown jewels there ja ja ja

Seriously though a good 24 hour alarm company would be much cheaper than a comunity fee

Then of course it could be the right thing for you but the security is what pumps the community charges up.  I was honestly worried where those community charges would end up when they were already high.  But for many they don’t find €150 too much.

I’ve always used key holders and in my last villa had an actual alarm system.

Good luck whatever you decide. HDA apartments  have lovely specifications

I don't want anyone making off with the diamond 💎 tiara! 😂 But it's an alternative to keep in mind. Thank you.
