The Spanish income tax is based on the value of your property and is payable yearly. If the property is in joint names both have to pay. (Ours for this year is approx 140 euros total).  If you like I cam PM you with a guide that I did for my Dentist when he was thinking of buying in Spain. (...

...It's just my point of view from my own experience of owning a property in Spain)

Yes please that would be of benefit to my self

Hi Stevie,

Been following your post.

I am in the same situation, looking to buy in Costa Calida, so much to take in. Would you be so kind as to forward me your perspective document when you went through the purchase process?

Regards

Graham.

Hi James.

We bought an Apartment in Sucina in 2008. We have had many happy times and holidays there in the years since. Unfortunately, due to my wife's ill health (not life threatening fortunately but not good for flying) we are going to sell the apartment next year.

Several reasons.

1. The community fees are much lower as you are not paying for 24 hour security, gardeners etc.

2. The village of Sucina is fairly busy all year round due to the Spanish and expat people who live there.

3. The village has all the amenities that you would expect. 2 supermarkets, Pharmacy, Doctors, several restaurants, bars and other shops. Riquelme has a bar and a shop/supermarket, but I am told the prices are higher than in the village.

Hope this helps
