You can have Priv med insuranance and state healthcare .If you apply to the nhs overseas dept they will issue you an S1 form .You take this to your nearest Social security office and they will exchange the form for another form( it is Spain) which you take to your healthcentre and they will issue...

... you a SIP card. This entitles you to Spanish healthcare and therefore the vaccination.

You are very kind and thank you for trying to help.  However, we are not British but I will follow up on the equivalent procedure from my own country, it might just be the answer we are looking for.  Thanks again.

I am with the "shrug" attitude. If a resident they should be on the padron and in the health system so will be qualified and get the jabs. If not resident why are they here and why should they get vaccination here rather than in their own country of residence?

Well said PeterC - I have paid tax for many years here, have been a resident (residencia) also for many years and had a TIE since August so would be well annoyed if people who do not pay their taxes here, are not legal tax paying residents here or just "under the radar" get their jab(s) before me!!!!!!!!!

Yes & I would be annoyed too if those were the circumstances under which some people find themselves here. But there are many people here who are not residents but who have businesses here, pay company taxes here, spend a lot of time here but who are not residents. These people are contributing to employment here and are a benefit to the Spanish economy. Such a person is not looking to jump any queues or get something they are not entitled to. The Spanish government have clearly stated that everyone in Spain, including illegals is entitled to the vaccine. It's a sensible decision on health grounds for both the individual and the public at large. Not everyone falls into the "residency" category. Our legal people advised us against seeking residency on tax grounds and we pay our personal tax in our own country and our company tax is paid here, all perfectly legal. There are many like us & my original question was simply to know how to register.

Plain fact however is first people who will get done are those in the Spanish health system.

Why?  Because its much easier to contact them.

Their ages, medical history, addresses, emails ands phone numbers are all known to Spanish provincial health administrators.

Absolutely Peter, that makes sense but if the Spanish Govt. say everyone is entitled to the vaccine, regardless of status then what methodology is in place to accommodate people who fall outside the normal remit?  I am going with our Gestor to the medical center to see what provision is in place (if any) for those outside the normal parameters.

I know Sucina, our gestor is there.  Are there many Irish living there?  We are in San Pedro and have had no opportunity to meet many people because of Covid . We haven't come across any Irish so far.  We have met lots of lovely UK people, Duitch, Belgian etc. but only casually when out and about. We are not here full time but spend a lot of time in Spain and have a business here.  Our problem is finding a methodology to legally get the vaccine and currently are making enquiries about that but it's slow progress.  We seem to be in a Catch 22 situation but I'm sure we will find a way as the Govt. here clearly said everyone in Spain, regardless of status, is entitled to get the vaccine - it's the methodology that is proving elusive.
