Absolutely Peter, that makes sense but if the Spanish Govt. say everyone is entitled to the vaccine, regardless of status then what methodology is in place to accommodate people who fall outside the normal remit?  I am going with our Gestor to the medical center to see what provision is in p...

...lace (if any) for those outside the normal parameters.

The Spanish provicincial health authorities specifically ask people not to go to the health centres to ask about vaccination, because they are overloaded and because  they dont want people assembling unnecessarily because of covid.

They ask that you make your enquiries online, read their press releases etc.

Talk to your gestor about your status and find out if you are able to register with the Spanish health system etc. They can download forms you might have to complete and submit with a digital signiture.

Hi Ann, I dont actually live in Sucina but used to live in Balsicas. We moved to north of Torrevieja last year as there is more to do up here .Best of luck getting the jab ,Im sure you will be OK . Best wishes Bob.

Thanks Bob, enjoy your new abode. This is our first year in this location & even allowing for Covid, I'd say it's pretty quiet most of the time. I appreciate your trying to help. Cheers.

Thanks for that Roberto, I'll take your advice. Have been in touch with my Gestor but it's not straightforward as I expected. Methinks we will he at the end of a very long list but we'll keep plugging away anyway. Will let you know when we hear some definite news. Cheers.

My wife and I do not have access to the Spanish NHS. We are below retirement age, and have PHI.

We obtained temporary SIP cards today (valid to end September 21).

We went to our local Spanish NHS clinic. We asked for temporary SIP cards, specifically for the purposes of registering for the vaccine programme. We took:

- valid padrons

- valid EHIC cards

- TIE cards

- our private health insurance cards

- our passports.

The clinic ONLY required the padrons, the TIEs and the EHIC cards.

This fixed the problem for us, but it may be problematic for some ... we have friends who (having done PHI, Residency and assuming that EHIC was "dead") let their EHIC cards lapse.

Hi Will

I am in the same position as you (below retirement age/private health, etc.) have obtained my Resedencia, had fingerprints taken, but still awaiting appointment to pick up my TIE.

How did you go about applying for your SIP?

I had assumed that as I had private medical insurance, I couldn't get one of these, being under retirement age.

Many thanks

We had Residencia cards, and switched to TIEs late last year.

We just went to the local clinic, with a note (which we translated into Spanish using google) saying ...

"We ask for temporary SIP cards to enable us to join the Covid vaccination program. We have TIE, EHIC, private insurance cards. Our phone number is XXXXXXX, our address is XXXXX"

We went to the clinic yesterday, but they sent us away because we did not have our padrons. We obtained new padrons this morning (our old ones were a few months out of date), and returned to the clinic.

They provided the temporary SIP cards. It took about 20 minutes (and, to be fair, the receptionist was multi-tasking and had lots going on). Only the padrons, TIEs and EHICS were looked at.

When you had your fingerprints were taken you were given a stamped and signed document that had the legal status of a TIE card,so you can proceed with that..

So your temporary SIP card was only to ensure you were in the vaccine programme - understood.

No, I did not receive anything, however as Will's temporary SIP card is only to ensure he is in the vaccine programme, I can wait until I receive my actual TIE. (given the speed that the programme is being rolled out in Spain)

Thanks for your information. What happens if you are a third country national living in Sucina and do not have ehic card  but on padron, have tie residency card, private health insurance card. Will they register me only for vaccine? Or will say refuse.

Thanks
