We normally take the ferry but are used to travelling with animals we take out own poodle with us most times when not travelling with guest dogs and just transporting goods. Really it would be down to you if we had an overnight break. We know of dog friendly places but it would add to your cost as you would be expected to pay for your own accomodation. All our vehicles travel with two drivers so apart from food and fuel and for walking breaks we can do a continuous run. It is entirely your preference. All the best Nic.

Hi Nick,

Does your dog stay in the car or in the kennel/cage on the ferry? I know  I know what a fuss arse I am, I'm more worried about my flippin' dog than me. He may be fine in the ferry kennels I dont know as I have never been abroad with him. He also has never been in proper Kennels or away from people for a night. He even sleeps on the floor in his bed in my bedroom at night. Yep he is well and truly spoilt and We have done it.

Cheers Lorraine

Hi Nick,

I am based at Wakefield,  but am sure I could beg a lift to further down the country when the time comes :-)

Cheers Lo

HI,  Can you let me know how you get on regarding getting your doggie to Spain.  I live in Pontefract and am a similar position with two dogs to get over there.  Worried that it might be too hot for them in the summer.

Chris

Our dog stays in the car but you are allowed to pop and see them during the trip which is about an hour and a half. And you're not being fussy at all our dog sleeps on the bed with us. Well actually we sleep with him x

We've been there in August and we have a black poodle. He was fine. Slept all day and came alive on a night. Get them used to the sea or a pool as soon as possible would be my advice and make sure they have shade. They'll love it.

Thanks Nick, you dont know how you have relieved my mind. I now know going to Spain and testing it out with my dog is possible. So now I can start planning in earnest.  If its alright with you I will contact you when I have something concrete to tell you. I will not book a rental in Spain in Autumn until I double check with you that the dates coinside with you going to spain and if at all possible a return journey 3/4 months later? Does that sound Ok to you?

Cheers Lo

Hi ChrisP,

For me and my little dog Nick6 sounds Ideal for me, my dog can travel in a car on the ferry which I feel my dog will be more relaxed with. It sounds like he does regular trips so perhaps you should contact him direct and see if it suits you. Hope that helps.

Cheers Lo
