My friends who are buying in Sucina say it has all the amenities.  It is apparently a lovely place and I will be seeing for myself next early summer.

Sucina is a lovely village. We have had our place there for over 13 years. However public transport is virtually non existent, and there is no taxi company in the area. So unless you have a car or intend to spend almost all your time in the village, then my answer would be no, it isn't worth doing.

You would have to order a Taxi from the nearest place that has them, (probably San Javier) which would be very expensive. As I said in my earlier post unless you are intending spending almost all your time in the village, if you don't drive, Sucina is not a good idea.
