Google it, it’s not just me that experienced it.

Moths are just nocturnal butterflies :-))  Many are incredibly beautiful too. Just like butterflies.

Wonder if there was a particular garden plant or tree very close by that encouraged breeding.

Friend had to uproot her ......??  because Tigermoth caterpillars lived on it.  Gosh but they're ugly little sods but quite funny to look at (google 'em)  She let them mature into moths first and uprooted.....??? must ask her.

They were very large and very numerous. It was a problem on the terrace spoof the flat and also made it difficult to dine outside in the main restaurant. In fact with the doors and windows open, there were lots of bugs everywhere and it wasn’t a great experience indoors either.

if we had the lounge light on, as you would, then sitting on the terrace wasn’t an option come sunset. There are lots of people reporting similar things online and not just in this resort so I think it’s a feature of being in farmland. Not sure if it’s year round or just at a specific time, we were there aug/sept.

I don’t have a problem with moths or butterflies being around but they were in my hair and face and I just couldn’t sit out.

you get the same in the UK with little black flies if you live out in the countryside.

You don't actually live here then!

Next time you come it's simple.   Put a fan next to table.

Moths (and flies) don't enjoy the whirlwind it creates.

We have a fan over our outdoor table.  But in Los Alc we had

a floor standing fan next to the table.  Problem solved.

We seem to have gone from - there are no moths to there are moths but you can get rid of them with a fan....

The OP asked for advice and I gave it based on my experience. I was quite clear that we didn’t own on the resort and had decided not to.

NO moths, very, very mozzies or flies in Sucina in our experience.  I was merely offering you a known solution to YOUR percieved problem.

But given your response I think perhaps you are a poster who just likes to create reaction.  I fell for it too!

Have a nice life and stay safe.
