Hi - New to the forum

We are thinking of buying a property in Sucina and was wanting to know 1st hand from residents what it's like.

Life in general, etc

We thought about Camposol but were put off by amount of bad reviews on build quality etc,

We really like the idea of 15 mins to the village.

Any help would really be appreciated

Thanks

Hi there

We bought in lo pagan after 3 year's of looking. We used Masa international to help look at various locations. If you want to private message me with any questions I'd be happy to help.

Regards

Kay

Avoid Home Espana like the plague.  They promised to book lots of viewings for us and then let us down just 3 days before we were due to fly out.  And when I say let us down... they hadn't organised one single viewing, despite weeks of email exchanges prior.

I would say go to Camposol and see it yourself before writing it off rather than be put off by what's on the internet. We did that and found it's actually a really nice community and only 11km from some amazing beaches. The negative press is due to a documentary Homes From Hell which highlighted a problem on a handful of properties, whose owners were quite rightly very vocal in letting people know about it. But it affected less that 40 out of 4,000 properties. Also damage caused by a flash flood about 3 years ago where builders rubbish had been dumped in the main drainage channel - but as our agent said when we visited had the floods in the UK the last few years been given the same negative press we would be condemning large areas of East Anglia, Merseyside and the Thames Valley! Many people have been living there for 15+ years with no problems at all.

Thanks for this

You are correct 1 lot of bad press doesn't constitute a disaster.

We bought a place in Camposol 2 years ago through Mercers and really like it

We also saw some of the negative press but it seemed like the guy representing the unlucky people wanted to keep the issue high profile rather than a recurring problem

We are happy and if you like to be with other Brits and yet close to a more Spanish community then you could do a lot worse than Camposol

Many thanks for the reply

Which sector are you on seen a lot on C-D but been told to stay away from these and only go for A-B

I am planning on a visit this year

Semi detached bungalow at €65k good value but I think I need to spend time there

Normally go around  Alhaurin el grande and coin area but costs a lot more for less

Any other info would be good and thank you again

I may be wrong but my understanding is that Sector C is where most of the "concerned" properties are. We are on Sector D and to be fair you will need a car to get to the amenities on Sector B, but we have no complaints with our road on D

Think properties are good value but this year the market appears to be picking up as does the tourist traffic through Murcia airport and with the impending opening of Corvera airport a lot of the local golf complexes that were left after the crash have seen building start again so it seems as though there is a general underlying increase in optimism for the area

Personally think that Camposol is a good place for a holiday home (which is how I use it today) or to retire and live permanently (which is our ultimate intention and what my neighbours do)
