Thanks Sue, we are over in June to have a look around before moving permanently in Aug/Sept.  As my daughter isn't coming with us we are looking at buying her a property which we can also use if we are back in the U.K.  Looking forward to coming out to see La Torre as we've heard so many good reports.

Thanks again for your helpful info.

Hi Caroline,

We bought a frontline townhouse at La Torre in May this year (2016) - adore it, but why wouldn't we it ticks every box for us.  Would I recommend it, YES MOST DEFINITELY.  I can hear the other comments from people who don't own at La Torre of looking to rent first, but hey ho, we saw it...

... on  Place in the Sun, visited, offered on a place and it was as easy as that.

We are normally very cautious people, but this was the most instinctive & the best house purchase we have ever done.  We are still black & blue from all the pinching of ourselves as we can't believe it's ours, lol.

We used the solicitor on Resort and she was and continues to be fab, she set all our utilities up on direct debits & if we have a query on anything we don't understand we know we can just pop in her office & clarify - such a reassurance.

Not only is La Torre a great place to own/live/visit it has a great community feel, well managed, informative Forum/Website & things are on the up. So pleased with our purchase - it's the best thing we ever did.

We had the best Christmas period we have ever had, New Year the most delightful dinner party/disco on Resort in a tasteful fun environment with the nicest of people.

We cannot fault it at all.

All the very best wished on what ever you decide.

Kindest regards, Monica

Hi Monica!  We bought in El Mojón not too dar from La Torre.  Haven't fully moved yet,  still a second home till we sell our home here in the US.  Going to our home in El Mojón in Septiembre.  Our son,  a die hard golfer,  coming with us for a short visit,  now asking about golf courses.  Is La Torre golf only for members or do admit visitors? As for Caroline,  we did not plan to buy in El Mojon.  It just happened! We saw this house online with flower curtain,  literally!  Went house hunting all the way to southern Spain,  we thought about the house with flower curtain!  Followed this house to find out it was in small and quiet community called El Mojon,  unheard of. It turned out , we did not buy the flower curtain house.  The owner wouldn't accept our offer . But suddently next door house went up for sale.  The agency called us if we wanted to take a look.  Love at first sight!  We put an offer and was accepted.  Love it and can't wait to move.  I will carry my own joy and peace and excitement with me and make that place another paradise!  The point is : What's yours is yours.  Just keep moving and your heart will lead you to where you're meant to be.

Good luck in making your decision.  You're very young and have infinite decisions to make. You'll be just fine in any of the infinite paradises on planet earth! Blessings!!!!

Have you looked at Mar Menor golf resort. Lovely resort with a mixture of villas and apartments. Hotel and approx six restaurants on site.  Just outside (called El Boulevard) there are more restaurants and some of the best value apartments.  The resort is also only about 7-10 mins to the beaches of Los Alcazares and Los Narejos by car.   Personally I prefer to swim in the Med (beaches 15-2Omins) by car.  One thing to note, there is no public transport on MMGR.  Just a bus to Torre Pacheco which In think doesn’t run in the summer.  TP is not very a attractive town anyway.

Might be worth a look.

MMGR is the closest to the beach.  Neither is walkable.  Also Mil Palmeras and Torre de la Horardada are lovely beaches.  If you had the right property you could walk to the beach.  In hindsight I wish I’d have done this.  Best advice always rent first.

The only problem ( I have been told )  is a lot of resorts still aren’t finished . And. Also not gated .However la torre is and also very clean and secure .

I am not looking at moving full time but ideally would love to spend 12 weeks of the year there . So not sure renting would work .

MMGR is finished and has been established since 2005.  It has security at two entrances.  It is considered to be one if the best in the area, though I know of course others will disagree. It has all year round residents.   I think, however, that property prices on the resort probably reflect this.  It’s definitely worth a look.  Lots of info on YouTube where you can nose around.

Mind you I’m probably just confusing the issue for you.

Thankyou very much again for your help . I’m guessing you probably live there now due to your knowledge .

Thankyou  .👍🏻
