I have owned a property in Puerto de Mazarron for many years, and although not a resident I have always spent six months of the year in the Puerto, as I am now well pass retirement age, I would like to pass ownership of the property to my daughter, but I am not sure how I do this, is it as simple as visiting the Notary and asking for the name on escritura (deeds) to be changed, or is it best to use a local solicitor to do this for me, if it is, can anyone recommend a solicitor who can do this for a reasonable fee.

Thanking you in advance

A change of ownership of the property will involve the payment of taxes etc. the same as it would if the property were to be sold to someone outside your family. You need to speak to a solicitor to see what cost this transfer of ownership will involve. Your family member will need to obtain an NIE first.
