Squatters problem in Puerto de Mazzaon

Just a brief answer it is a big problem throughout Spain.

Many years ago there was a complete apartment block on the right hand side of the road as you entered Mazzaron from Camposol.

It took the town hall, police and Guardia, nearly 3 years to evict them, thing have not changed because of Corvid-19 .

But please do not let this put you off buying, just be careful where you buy.

You cant choose you family, now unfortunately you cannot chose you neighbours.

The authorities can evict anyone in a month if can not be able to present a tenancy agreement or to prove that you allow someone to live in your property and has paid you for doing so. 

I don't know if Mazarron has a bigger problem than in Spain generally. Or whether Spain has a particularly bad problem in general beyond bar gossip. But several complexes in the port do have an ongoing an persistent problem with squatters and reluctance from the management, the expense, and legal problems means they do remain (in one case for years).

Make sure that you get clarity from agents and maybe even the community president if you buy in a residencial.
