Cajamar are a bit crafty - they put it as 15 Euros discount for making 48 transactions per quarter, rather than saying they will charge you 15 Euros,

What??? Roland on here says they dont charge for using a debit card??? 🤔 am confused!

Personally I like to use Google Pay on my phone. Never got a cash. Please check T&C's what charges bank got for you as it could be different regarding what account you got.  Be persistent as they won't tell you if you don't. It's perfectly good to use your card since you'll get one. It's...

... a bit different from UK accounts how they operating in Spain so need a little get used to it.

Thanks for that. 👍

Roland is quire correct. The Cajamar Wefferent account includes a DEBIT card. We have had our account for over two years and have never been charged for underusage, The account pays all our monthly/annual direct debits, but the amount of shop purchases on the card is negligable. Cannot recommend Cajamar more highly.

I have the "normal" Cajamar account (whatever that is!) and have no need to change as we certainly use the cards (note that the usage applies to each card, so share the use between them) enough to not get charged.

I would be very nervous about changing to a different type of account, but as I wrote initially before committing you should read all the Ts & Cs.

The 'normal' Cajamar account is the one that you pay usage charges on.

The Wefferent account has no charges if you use it online only.

Hi Angie

All very complicated by the responses you are getting!

My Cajamar account (which I believe is the basic account) has a linked savings account.

The main account has terms of 15 euro per qtr service charge, however, if you deposit and keep 1K Euro in the linked savings account the service charge is waived.

Speak to them at the bank when you get here and I am sure you will be very happy that you chose Cajamar.

Bob

I repeat what I put in my first reply " of course they will charge you if you do not use them a certain amount of times, usually 15 Euros per quarter for underusage. Cash withdrawls do not count."

If you want one, use it, or you will be charged.

Just use their app all the time for your banking and there is absolutely no charge. Ask for a Wefferent debit card when you speak to the branch.
