With the reaction of a lot of people to the closure of San Javier airport, or more accurately the dislike of Corvera by passengers and airlines I think there could be a lot of folk deciding that there are better places to have a holiday home, and more houses could be coming onto the market. Properties within easy reach of Alicante Elche airport will look more attractive, particularly to the long weekenders, although the extra costs and times of Corvera should not matter so much to residents.

The increasing levels of crime locally are also not helping.

Yes I agree; all those issues will probably have a bearing.

Camposol is only a 25 minute's drive from Corvera Airport.. fantastic  for the Residents of Camposol Murcia and Mazarron...keep the improvements coming as we on Camposol are loving it.

An aiport no matter how close by with expensive flights, and fewer and fewer of them is not an asset.

The paint hasn't dryed yet ..it will take time to fully comission the new airport ..that includes attracting new flights ...the same amount of flights that used San Javier are now using Corvera.

Simply not true- where are the BA flights from London, the Norwegian Airlines flights from Scandanavia....why are flights being cancelled for the winter while extra flights keep being added to Alicante?

I was a supporter of the plans and promises that were being talked about, but sadly they seem to be as true as all the rubbish that sold Brexit to too many.

How can you tell when a politician is lying? Their lips move....

Early days yet.  The Boeing 737 max debacle has affected a lot  of aircraft availability and its not done and dusted.

There isn't the same number of flights into Corvera. Ryanair are struggling to sell tickets too and they have scrapped winter flights on routes that were extremely popular at san javier. I'm flying to corvera for the first time next month. I will see how it compares to Alicante and  report back!

If there is a flight, Corvera will certainly let it land - there is not much an airport can do to be better or worse. What matters to passengers is the price they pay for the flight, the flying time, the choice of destinations, and how easy it is to get to their property (house/hotel/apartment/whatever). Sadly it looks like Murcia International is failing on all those counts, for most people. It is of course impossible to know what things would have been at San Javier as it is no longer an option.

Getting back on topic there is nothing to encourage people to come and live in southern Murcia, so if people want to sell they will have to take what they can get, and anyone still wanting to come and buy here would be wise to not fall in love with a property and offer what they feel is a realistic price.

May I make a comment to frequentflyer have you sold your property on Camposol yet, I believe you were asking 170,000 euros? for a villa on a 300mt plot?

Yet you are saying you can pick one up for 139,000 euros?

I thought you had downsized to a 2 bed and bought another property in a gated community near Torrevieja
